Thirty years ago tonight, a young boy, a teen of mere sixteen sat in his basement alone and watched CBC's Knowlton Nash deliver the devastating news that his hero was gone: "John Lennon - Dead!"
Tears followed and, yes, life resumed - but rarely a day passes that I still don't dare "Imagine"... thanks John.

I remember where I was when I heard the news. My friend was with me, had just come over from Vietnam and could barely speak English and couldn't understand why is was suddenly so pale and shaken.
ReplyDeleteAnd that dumb fuck chapman just did it to be famous. Shame. Lennon would likely still be putting out magic today if he were still around.
