Aykroyd had it right: "Jane, you [partisan] slut!"
Long a blight on the political landscape, Jane Taber is seemingly incapable of formulating her own questions when "interviewing" opposition MP's. Tory talking points are all she's good for.Anyone who saw Iggy on CTV yersterday has to give the man credit for keeping his cool in the face of Taber's hyper-partisan tack.
By repeatedly trying to paint any and all talk of a potential coalition government as both undemocratic and detrimental to Canada's future, all Taber did yesterday was lay bare both her ignorance of the organic nature of Canada's parliamentary system and her own Tory pedigree. And Iggy remained even tempered throughout. A lesser man may have succumbed to baser instincts by channelling Aykroyd's infamous SNL rebuke. But he did not.
Oh well. Someday, somewhere, somebody is going have enough of Taber's faux journalism on camera and is going to say to her face what we all know to be true. Until then she will just continue to suck and blow conservative talking points until her cheeks are Tory blue.
