"It is inconceivable that a judge today would raise a woman's attire ... as a mitigating circumstance in sentencing a man convicted of rape."Well, it may be "inconceivable" - -
but it happened!
Manitoba Judge Robert Dewar has no business on the bench. The Fucker should be fired and he should be fucking fired now! Dewar has no business judging anything anymore. He gave up that right when he choose to blame the victim. He had no business blaming the victim and tacitly excusing the perpetrator's actions. Rape is Rape! And when a rapist is
convicted there can be no excuse proffered from the bench for the ensuing light sentence for such an abominable act. The
only business Judge Dewar should be concerned about presently is the signing of his name to his resignation letter. Anything less is unacceptable!
Nothing but deafening silence from the Cons on this, except that is to justify his dis/honours ruling. Imagine the deafening roar that would be cascading upon us had Dewar been a Liberal appointee.
ReplyDeleteSomewhat overlooked is the fact that Dewar's appointment to the bench is a classic example of a loyal crony bring gifted with a position on our payroll that he was otherwise unqualified for.
unbelievable. I just posted a long, very crude comment that involved a broom stick, some rope, a shower, and a bunch of angry women. Hit the wrong key, just as well.
ReplyDeleteThis asshole sets us far, far back when we still have so much ground to cover.
If the judge woulda known everybody was gonna have a cow over this, he probably would have just found the poor kid "NOT GUILTY". It was a he-said/she-said situation, with no witnesses, no video, no confession, and no physical evidence. His Solomon-like verdict and sentence was an attempt to believe BOTH parties: She really didn't consent; and he really didn't realize that she didn't consent. The trouble the boy has already been put through was sufficient to teach him a lesson, and a custodial sentence would have been ridiculously harsh. The judge TRIED to please everybody. But there's just no pleasin' some womyn. Here's some good advice, Your Honor: Next time you wanna avoid sending a guy to prison for an unproven crime, just find him NOT GUILTY, and comment no further.

ReplyDeleteDid you actually believe what you wrote... at least that it would serve as a defence of the judge rather than a further indictment?
And it's too bad he kinda looks like one of our old Premiers - Duff Roblin - and kinda sounds like the last one (Dewar / Doer). Gives us all a bad name.
